About this Podcast

HOST: Welcome to our podcast, today I'm thrilled to be speaking with an expert in the field of eco-friendly prop making. Can you tell us a bit about your experience and what led you to this area? GUEST: Sure, I've been working as a prop maker for over a decade now. I became interested in sustainability a few years ago and started exploring ways to make my work more environmentally friendly. HOST: That's fantastic. And it's great that you're sharing your knowledge through the 'Advanced Skill Certificate in Eco-Friendly Prop Making'. Could you share some current trends in the industry when it comes to sustainable practices? GUEST: Absolutely, there's a growing movement towards sustainability in the entertainment industry. More and more productions are looking for eco-friendly alternatives, and recycled materials are becoming increasingly popular. HOST: That's really promising. But I imagine there must be challenges in implementing these practices. What have you found to be the most difficult part of teaching or learning eco-friendly prop making? GUEST: The biggest challenge is probably access to materials. Some recycled materials can be harder to find or more expensive than traditional ones. But once you know where to look, it becomes easier. HOST: That's a valuable insight. Looking ahead, where do you see the future of eco-friendly prop making going? GUEST: I believe it's only going to become more important. As climate change continues to be a major issue, I expect we'll see even more demand for sustainable practices in all areas of production, including prop making.
